Ozlem MERIC’s perfect weekend

Negotiator at our District Monceau agency, Ozlem reveals her vision of a perfect weekend.

A long weekend for two in Marrakech.

Saturday 12 p.m. – Arrival in Marrakech and a relaxing day at the hotel

After a 3-hour flight from Orly we arrive in sunny Marrakech where the thermometer has cranked up a good few degrees.

We take the taxi to the Fairmont Royal Palm hotel, a favourite for a total change of scenery. The view from our suite overlooking the luxuriant landscaped gardens and Mount Atlas is breathtaking.

For our 1st day, 100% chilling out is on the programme with a late lunch by the dream 2000 sqm pool.

Saturday 6 p.m. – More chilling out at the hotel spa followed by an evening in the heart of the Medina

After a few laps and a nap, it’s now late afternoon and time to head for the hotel’s spa for a traditional exfoliation treatment with black soap and an hour-long massage!

For the evening, we head for the Medina for a bit of shopping and tasting local products in the souks.

However, a busy day awaits us tomorrow, so it’s back to the hotel for an early night…

Sunday 9am – Quad-biking in the Moroccan desert followed by brunch

Up early for a 2-hour quadbike ride in the Moroccan desert. Amazing scenery and adrenalin guaranteed.

Brunch is at the Selman Hotel with a fabulous horse show in the hotel gardens.

Late in the day, we head back to the hotel for a beginner’s golf lesson and a drink in the gardens.

Sunday 7 p.m. – Dinner at “Comptoir Darna”

For the evening meal it’s the Comptoir Darna restaurant, one of my favorites both for its cosy atmosphere and its eclectic dishes. For me, a Berber tagine with seasonal vegetables, flavored with argan oil and fresh herbs from the Atlas. Delicious!

Monday 9am – A last morning in Marrakech before returning to Paris

A few hours by the pool to put a finishing touch to our suntan before packing up and getting the taxi back to the airport.

It’s a wrench to leave such an idyllic place so early, but we are fully-charged for the week to come.
