Michael, a negotiator for our District Monceau agency, reveals his vision of a perfect weekend.
A weekend in Florence.
Saturday 7:30 a.m. – On the starting blocks
To get the most out of the weekend we decide to board a flight leaving Paris at 7:30 am. After a 1h45 flight, we land at the airport just 20 minutes from the city centre.
Saturday 10:30 a.m. – Breakfast
As soon as we get into Florence we check-in at the Cerretani MGallery hotel before heading for breakfast at Scudieri facing the Duomo, the city’s renowned cathedral. We then take a stroll through the little alleyways and head for the entrance to the Duomo.
Saturday 2 p.m. – Lunch at the Market
For lunch we head for the covered market, an incredible universe where all of the world’s specialties rub shoulders. Naturally, Italian pasta is on our menu.
Lunch is followed by a visit to the Palazzo Vecchio museum (a must see!)
Saturday 5 p.m. – A short break
Another must-see place in Florence is The Westin Excelsior hotel with its rooftop terrace boasting a breathtaking panoramic view of the Arno.
Saturday 9 p.m. – Dinner
At the Hotel Savoy’s Irene restaurant, we enjoy a succulent meal in a magnificent setting.
Then back to the hotel for a well-deserved night’s sleep.
Sunday 9:30 a.m. – Breakfast
After a hearty breakfast at nearby Gilli, direction Florence Synagogue.
A place steeped in history.
Sunday 1:30 p.m. – Lunch
After lunch at the Rinascente department store’s rooftop restaurant Tosca&Nino, we then head off to the Gucci Garden.
With a superb vintage and recent collections.
Time flies, and it’s almost 5 p.m.
Our weekend in this beautiful city steeped in history is coming to an end.
Though it’s sad to leave, it’s with my batteries fully recharged and with enthusiasm that I shall get back to work tomorrow.
