Mathieu Subramaniam’s perfect weekend

Mathieu, director of our District Monceau agency, reveals his vision of a perfect weekend.

A weekend break in Brittany

Saturday 7:30 a.m. – Leaving Paris and heading for Cancale

To make to most of the weekend and avoid the traffic, we set off around 7:30 in the morning for a 4-hour drive rewarded by a magnificent sea-view after a week in the city.

Saturday 12 p.m. – Lunch by the sea

Arriving around 12 noon, we take a few minutes to stretch our legs on the beach before heading for the oyster market. After a succulent lunch as fresh as they come, we decide to stroll along Saussaye beach with our little dog to digest and build-up an appetite for a pancake before moving on…

Saturday 7 p.m. – Dinner in Saint Malo

Direction Saint Malo to dine on the ramparts and spend the night. After a half-hour drive from Cancale offering some superb views of the coast, we arrive in the fortified town and head for the “La Fourche à Droite” restaurant renowned for its quality menu and cosy atmosphere.

Sunday 12 p.m. – Lunch in Dinard

Sunday morning, and after a coffee at the hotel we head for Dinard, a 20-minute drive. Numerous restaurants line the seafront, and we opt for “La Gonelle” which benefits from a beautiful terrace on the water’s edge and serves perfectly cooked seafood.

Sunday 4 p.m. – Chilling out before hitting the road

After our meal, we decide to treat ourselves to a moment of relaxation at the Diane Barrière spa in Dinard. A massage and a sauna later, and it’s already 6 p.m and time to head back to Paris…

The weekend is coming to an end, but rested and with some great memories to look back on, I’m ready for tomorrow and another week’s passionate and rewarding work.
