Léon Monet exhibition at the Musée du Luxembourg

Léon Monet, the somewhat overlooked brother of renowned artist Claude Monet, is honored during an exhibition held at the Luxembourg Museum from March 15th 2023 to July 16th 2023.

This rare exhibition highlights the decisive role played by Léon Monet in his illustrious brother’s career, as well as his unwavering support for his Impressionist friends and the significant collection of works that he built up over the years.

The exhibition presents not only a number of his brother’s paintings and sketches, but also works by artists Alfred Sisley, Camille Pissarro, Berthe Morisot and Auguste Renoir.

A unique opportunity to better understand the strong bond that linked the siblings, in particular their shared passion for colour, and to discover their mutual affection thanks to a number of family photographs and portraits.

An exhibition not to be missed.

The Musée du Luxembourg is open Monday from 10.30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
