History

The Alsace neighbourhood emerged thanks to the official creation of Levallois-Perret town in 1867. Previously, this village was a rarely visited hunting area, but it began to flourish as early as 1845. Indeed, at this date, Nicolas Eugène Levallois obtained the land from Etienne Noël, a rich landowner. He began developing plans to found the village with his friend’s help, the surveyor Rivet. In 1867, Levallois and Champerret towns merged and became Levallois-Perret. After that, the municipality began to prosper: railways in the 1850s, the Oriza-Legrand perfume factory in 1860, a school in 1866, etc.
